Starlight Succeeds by Skiskir Starlight Succeeds by Skiskir
Starlight "succeeds" at finishing her friendship lessons.

(Honestly I think "Every Little Thing She Does" would have been better if at the end the Mane 5 of 6 stayed mad at Starlight Glimmer until about around the finale. That'd be a neat angle.)

That actually caught me a little off-guard.

It's so much easier on the writers though if every episode starts and ends with all the protagonists on good terms.

Admittedly, that'd be fairly hypocritical considering they quickly forgave Twilight when she hypnotized the entire town specifically to cause problems.

Except she didn't.

First, all of Twilight's friends ignored how increasingly unhinged Twilight became because of her lack of a friendship lesson about which to write the princess. Second, Twilight cast the "Want It, Need It" spell on her Smarty Pants doll, not on other sentient beings. Next, she intended to cause a little disharmony amongst the CMCs, which she thought she'd fix with a speech on friendship. Through a ridiculous set of circumstances, most of Ponyville got caught up in Twilight's spell. Twilight tried to nullify her spell, but couldn't get a clear shot at her doll. After Celestia nullified the spell, the ponies were none the worse for wear.

Starlight combined several questionable spells without knowing how they would affect each other, then cast that Frankenstein magic on Twilight's friends with the intent of controlling them. She ignored the warning signs that the spell was going awry, rather than ending it right away. Add to that the rest of the Mane 6 had to deal with the MLP-FiM equivalent of a hangover the next day. You'd know how unpleasant a hangover is if you've ever had one.

The forethought, intent and aftermath of these two episodes were completely different. Maybe now you understand why a lot of fans are dissatisfied with the speed at which Starlight was forgiven.

Mad until the finale would of been a good idea.
